CNC Machining
We operate some of the most modern CNC equipment in the market.
Our plant ranges from simple 3 axis
CNC vertical milling machines and 2 axis semi cnc lathes all the
way through to multi pallet horizontal machining centres and 13
Axis sliding head lathes. Take a look through our plant
list to see what machinery is utilised on our shop floor. We
are a sub-contract precision engineers producing components for
our wide customer base in industry sectors ranging from Aerospace,
Defence, Medical, Automotive, Subsea, Electronics, Communications
etc. As well as cnc machining we have capabilities for centreless
grinding, honing, bead blasting and assembley.
Product Finishing / Plating / Painting / Thermal Deburring / Rumbling / Tumbling
CNF is happy to undertake all finishing processes that our customers
may require. We use our established network of third party suppliers
for processes we are not able to carry out in house. Processes available include Anodising, Electro Plating, Electro Polishing, Painting, Lazer
Engraving, Polishing, Wet and Powder Painting, Explosive/Thermal deburring, Vibratory Deburring, Bead Blasting etc etc. We can supply
Certificates of Conformity for all finishing processes where necessary.
Product Testing
By way of our long established third party supplier network, we are
able to offer the following testing services that we are unable to
carry out in house:-
Non Destructive Testing (NDT) - Radiography - Ultrasonics - Liquid
Penetrant
Magnetic Particle - Eddy Current
CNC
/ CAD Programming
We utilise the power of Delcam Featurecam and Licom
Alphacam programming systems. These systems enable us to not only
create complex 2D and 3D CAD drawings, but also automatically generate
the CNC code for all of our machinery. All the machines are linked
via hard wired DNC to the main CAD terminal to enable easy upload
and download of our CNC programs. This makes setup of repeatable jobs
much faster.
We are also able to import and create programs from customer supplied solid model files.
 
We are able to receive customer drawings via email, CD and to our
dedicated FTP area in most major CAD and Image file formats including:
*.dwg (Autocad) / *.sldd (Solidworks) / *.dxf / *.igis / *.jpg /
*.gif / *.pdf / *.tiff / *.dwf / *.stp
We utilise a high speed internet
connection at CNF, so large files are never normally an issue when
emailed to us or sent up to our FTP server.
Customer
Relations
In our continual effort to improve relationships with our customers,
we are embarking on a project to make all of our shop floor data
live on this website. We hope in time this will enable customers
to login to a secure area of this site and make queries on the exact
state of work they have ordered with us in real time, and projected
completion and delivery dates. There will also be facilities customers
can view order history, stock levels and current selling price for
any parts. Futher details will be made available on this website
as they happen.
